01 Who we are
This site is operated by CanEl Studios (“CanEl,” “we,” “us”), based in New York, New York. We are a production company. This policy explains what we collect when you visit canelstudios.com, why we collect it, who else receives it, and what you can do about it.
Questions, requests, or complaints: contact@canelstudios.com, or by post at CanEl Studios, c/o Elice Island, 353 Lexington Avenue, Suite 400 #269, New York, NY 10016, United States.
02 What we collect
Information you give us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message. If you subscribe to our newsletter, you provide your email address to Substack, which administers that list on our behalf.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is requested — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamp. These are used to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and tracking technologies
This site uses the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. It sets cookies and sends Meta information about your visit — including your IP address, the pages you view, and identifiers that may be linked to a Facebook or Instagram account you hold. We use it to measure whether our advertising reaches the right people and to show ads to people who have visited this site.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing data with Meta for advertising may nonetheless be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under some United States state privacy laws, including California’s. See section 06 for how to opt out.
03 Who else receives your information
We do not sell your information. We rely on a small number of service providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Provider | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Platforms | Advertising measurement and audience building | IP address, page views, device and browser data, Meta identifiers |
| Substack | Newsletter delivery | Email address, subscription and open activity |
| Vercel | Website hosting and delivery | Server log data, including IP address |
| YouTube / Google | Video hosting for embedded or linked films | Playback and device data when you view a video |
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
04 Why we use it
- To operate, secure, and improve this website
- To respond to enquiries about client work, partnerships, or investment
- To send our newsletter to people who ask for it
- To measure and target advertising
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, our legal bases are: legitimate interests for operating and securing the site and replying to your enquiries; consent for advertising cookies and for newsletter subscription, which you may withdraw at any time.
05 How long we keep it
Server logs are retained for a short operational period. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed for the matter it concerns and our ordinary business records. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Data held by Meta is retained under Meta’s own policies, which we do not control.
06 Your choices and rights
Turning off the Meta Pixel
You can limit or stop this tracking by adjusting your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, by blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or by using a browser or extension that blocks trackers. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends one.
Unsubscribing
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
If you are in the UK or EEA
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law
You have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these, write to contact@canelstudios.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
07 International transfers
We are based in New York in the United States, and our service providers are largely United States companies. If you access this site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, our providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism.
08 Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections across the site. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09 Children
This site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, write to us and we will delete it.
10 Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The effective date above will change when we do. Material changes will be noted on this page.

This policy was drafted alongside the site build and is not legal advice. Before it goes live on canelstudios.com it should be read by a lawyer — particularly the state-privacy-law rights in section 06 and the transfer language in section 07 — and the effective date reset to the launch date.
